DO RE MI Preschool program. This alternative to
ordinary preschool will uniquely captivate your child's
imagination and make learning a truly joyful experience. At Kids
& Music, we believe children learn best when fostered in a
loving, caring environment. Your child’s natural curiosity will
be encouraged while maintaining the freedom to develop at
his/her own pace. The small group setting balances your child’s
need for socialization with necessary focus and attention that
each individual preschooler requires. The gifted staff at Kid’s
& Music is dedicated to excellence in instruction, environment
and curriculum ensuring an enjoyable, enriching experience for
your child’s first years of school.
Toddler Discovery class: Ages 18
months to three years.

Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks)

Tuition: $120.00 a month for
once a week and $220 a month for twice a week
(5 payments per
semester)

$75.00 non-refundable fee, applied towards June’s tuition.

Class structure: 12 students maximum. 2 lead teachers, 1
classroom assistant with 9 or more students enrolled.
Toddler Discovery
is a play centered curriculum that will feature learning
primarily through music and movement. The children will engage
in a variety of creative activities and themes, with some
emphasis on recognizing letters, colors, and shapes. In the
Do Re Mi Toddler Discovery Class, the lessons will
encourage social and emotional development, language
development, large and small motor skills, cooperation,
listening, and sharing. The daily schedule will include explore
time, music and movement time, simple craft and snack, story
time, indoor games and tumbling exercise. Examples of musical
themes will be “On the Farm”, “Under the Sea”, “Things that
Move” and more! Your child will love the fun and excitement of
the Toddler Discovery Class!
Do Re Mi Three’s class: Age three
by mid November

Do Re Mi Three’s is
a creative and engaging curriculum that will promote learning
through music, movement, and dramatic play. The students will
experience a variety of enriching musical activities that will
lay the foundation for more formal musical instruction in the
Do Re Mi four’s
class.
Do Re Mi Three’s is primarily a play-centered
curriculum with some introductory
emphasis on academics. Academic
features will include recognizing letters and numbers, shapes
and colors, and
understanding simple pathways and
associations. Thematic elements in the curriculum highlight
"Seasons", "Weather", "Transportation", "Animals Around
the World", "People in Our Town", to name a few. A typical daily
schedule includes: explore time,
circle and gathering time, music and movement time, arts and
crafts time, snack and story time. Large motor skills will be
emphasized during our gym and tumbling activity for the day.

Do
Re Mi Four's Class:
Age four by
mid November
(May combine with Do Re Mi Three’s class if enrollment is light.
Students will continue to do age four work where appropriate and
meet once a week in the piano lab. See above information for

Do Re Mi Four’s class
is a play-centered/academic curriculum with an emphasis
on kindergarten readiness
skills and musical proficiency. Students will explore many
facets of the musical experience; speaking, singing, moving,
dancing, listening, creating and playing instruments, as well as
learning about reading and writing music. The Do Re Mi four’s
class will rotate into the Kids & Music
piano lab twice a week for a half hour of piano instruction
using the “Music for Little Mozart” series. Daily activities
will include: explore time (free play the first 15 minutes of
class), circle and gathering time, which we will use for
activities like singing hello, saying the pledge, categorizing
the weather, reviewing the months and days of the week, etc.
Music and movement time, with thematic elements such as, music
and celebrations from different cultures around the world and at
home. We will prepare a healthy snack, have story and reading
time, feature arts and crafts, and learn new skills during gym
and tumbling activity time. Your child will love the unique,
artistic experience in the Do Re Mi Fours class!
